SUBJECT:

The channels of both Wireless Bridges are different, but the connection is still working.

QUESTION:

After changing the channel of both NWH6110 bridges, it displays different channel number in bridge configuration of WMS utility, however, the connection between both bridges is still working. Is it normal?

ANSWER:

During channel setting of Wireless Bridges (NWH6110), it is possible that during the settings of a new channel, the bridge will revert back to the old channel used by the partner bridge. This is because after the channel is set, it will scan the network for its exiting partner and read the channel that is in use. If it is different from its own, it will change to use that channel, even though it is configured to use a different one.

To solve this problem, we suggest you to shutdown the bridge after finishing its channel change and then to continue another bridges’ configuration. When all bridges are restarted at one time, they will be the only one on that ad-hoc network; therefore, will use the configured setting (channel).
