DRIVER UPGRADE AND INSTALLATION GUIDE
[Note]
The InstantWAVE Utility (Rev:A2) can't be used in Windows
XP system
so all the wireless properties should be assigned through
operating
system's Device Manager, as described below.
- Turn on the power of the PC and start the Windows
XP operating system.
- The "Found New Hardware Wizard" is opened
automatically.
- In the installation window of 'What do you want the
wizard to do?', check
"Install from a list or specify location (Advanced)"
and click <Next>
button to continue.
- In the installation window of 'Please choose your
search and installation
options', check "Search for the best driver in
these locations" and
"Include this location in the search" option.
- Click <Browse> button to manually select the
pathname of InstantWAVE WinXP driver and click <OK>
button to accept the pathname.
- After clicking <Next> button to continue the
installation, the system
recognizes the adapter type.
- When the Hardware Installation Warning Message is
displayed (such as:
xxxxx has not passed Windows Logo testing...), click
<Continue Anyway> button to continue.
- On the "Completing the Found New Hardware"
screen, click <Finish>
button to exit.
- Open 'System Properties' from Control Panel and select
"Hardware"
page.
- Click 'Device Manager' button to open Device Manager.
- Highlight "InstantWAVE ISA Card" device
under Network Adapters entry
and click right-button of mouse to select "Properties".
- On the "InstantWAVE ISA Card Properties"
window, select 'Advanced'
page.
- Highlight "Domain Name [ESSID]" item of
Property field.
- Replace "Wireless" with the Domain Name
(case sensitive) that you
want to join in Value field.
- Click <OK> button to apply the setting and
exit.
- Restart the computer.
[Note] If you want to change other properties for wireless
network, you can
also change those settings by similar steps 9 ~ 16. |
